BLOOM BUILDS
Build development solutions that work for the people it’s for.
Human flourishing doesn’t happen by accident. The conditions people learn, work and grow within matter.
Bloom Builds helps organisations design human development programmes that people can actually engage with, use and carry into practice, while giving the teams behind them clearer structure, stronger learning experiences and better ways to understand whether the work is making a difference.

WHAT WE DO
From the programme itself to the things that make it work.
We work with organisations building something new, strengthening something already in motion, or trying to understand what should happen next.
Programme Design
Build the experience around the change you’re trying to create.
We design and strengthen human development programmes, from focused interventions to longer development journeys; programme architecture, participant journeys, development outcomes, content structures, or the systems that help the work hold together. The starting point isn’t a format. It’s what the programme is trying to make possible for the people inside it.
Curriculum & Learning Design
Turn what people need to learn into something they can actually use.
Curriculum development, session design, assessments, activities, facilitator guides and learning materials, building from scratch or strengthening what already exists.
Delivering content and developing people aren’t quite the same thing.
Development Tools & Experiences
Make the work tangible.
Some development happens through a programme. Some happens in a room. Some needs a tool people can return to long after both are over.
Workshops, cohort experiences, workbooks, journals and participant resources.
OUR PERSPECTIVE
Human flourishing is more than just wellbeing. It’s purpose and alignment.
It is about creating the conditions for people to live, learn, contribute and grow in ways that fit who they are and the contexts they inhabit.
That changes how we think about development work.
When something isn’t working, the obvious response is often more; more training, more content, another workshop, another framework.
Sometimes people already know what to do, and the thing getting in the way is how the programme is structured, the transition between learning and application, the assumptions built into the experience, the tools available to participants; or something else entirely.
So we don’t decide what kind of problem it is before we understand it.
We find out what’s actually needed before we build.
Shaped by more than a decade of human development practice. Not theory alone. Lived, tested and continually refined.
HOW WE WORK
Every engagement starts with what’s actually happening, not what’s assumed. The depth depends on the work — a clear curriculum brief doesn’t need months of diagnosis; a complex programme challenge probably deserves more than a kickoff call. The principle stays the same.
01 | UNDERSTAND
We get clear on the people, the context, the intended outcome and what already exists. Then we look at what the evidence and experience are telling us: what’s working, where things get stuck, and which assumptions are worth questioning.
02 | DESIGN
We shape the response around what we’ve learned.
A programme, curriculum, learning experience, tool, outcomes framework, or a way of strengthening something you already have.
03 | BUILD
We turn the design into something usable by the people who will experience, facilitate and run it. Not just something that works on paper.
04 | LEARN
Where the work calls for it, we look at what happens in practice, what changes, and what needs refining. The first version doesn’t become right just because we built it.
A NOTE ON DIAGNOSIS
Sometimes the answer is that you don’t need us.
Sometimes something needs building. Sometimes something needs strengthening. Sometimes what you already have is doing exactly what it needs to do.
And where the work calls for specialist expertise beyond Bloom’s remit, we’d rather identify that than pretend otherwise.
Diagnosis only means something if it’s allowed to change the answer. Otherwise it’s just a sales pitch wearing a clipboard.

BUILT FROM PRACTICE
We’ve done the work ourselves.
This work has taken different forms; employability and work-readiness programmes, founder development, coaching structures, participant resources and programme design.
Across all of it, one question has stayed remarkably consistent:
What does this person actually need to move from where they are to where this work is trying to take them?

Programme Design
Programme development for a youth employability organisation: recruitment methodology, foundations curriculum, soft-skills and work-readiness content, coaching structures, participant development. The recruitment redesign brought attrition down to 11%, lower than most South African universities. The programme as a whole contributed to approximately 80% employability outcomes across cohorts, for 4 years.
A founder-track strand of the same engagement improved founder competency by 14%; that work is now being developed into Builder’s Lab, a standalone flagship offering

Curriculum & Learning Design
Strengthening how a career-development organisation understand and evidence participant outcomes as it grows its institutional offering.
Personal Mastery Foundations, a cohort programme combining curriculum, facilitated sessions and a participant workbook, increased mental health service attendance and compliance by 21%. A separate trauma-informed soft-skills curriculum, built for a digital-skills training track within the same engagement, improved soft-skills adoption by an average of 10%.

Development Tools & Experiences
Make the work tangible. Some development happens through a programme. Some happens in a room. Some need a tool people can return to long after both are over. Workshops, cohort experiences, workbooks, journals, participant resources. Where the need is primarily for a standalone tool rather than a consulting engagement, that work lives through Bloom
Frequently Asked Questions
Bring the brief.
Or bring the question.
You might know exactly what you need. You might know what you’re trying to build. Or you might only know that something needs to change. All three are good places to start.
Tell us what you’re working on, who it’s for, and what you’re hoping to make possible. We’ll start there.
